If the top button is a blank, it is not CMBS / ACC. They come as a package.

Another check is the Acura emblem on the front grille. If it is a flat, smooth plaque, that is the radar transmitter and it is CMBS equipped. If it has the standard Acura 'A' and 3 dimensional, then it is not CMBS equipped.

Again if it has CMBS, you get ACC. If not, you have neither.
23109VC,

I know this has been beat to death, but here are pictures of the CMBS button on the dash, and radar grill emblem, from a 2006, if you choose not to go with that car and keep looking.

I looked at the link that was originally posted - the car in question does NOT have the CMBS package.

I have 3 kids too. They do NOT fit in a TL, they do fit in an RL with a max of 2 child seats and the bigger kid in the middle. Consumer Reports says the 2 cars are close in size. CR is full of beans (or something...).

Agree the RL image is very professional while conveying a sense of being careful with one's money. For an attorney, executive, physician etc. that doesn't hurt.

S2000?? Why not a donorcycle? Just make sure your life insurance is paid up.

The RL is ideal for international spies. Stealthy, unassuming styling, satellite communications, radar devices, etc, etc.

But I would see it also fits SUPER Heros. Picture this advert....

A crime is commited. A damsel in distress. An Acura 'A' symbol appears in the night sky.

Suddenly a Clark Kent like character jumps into an Acura RL and speeds off.

As he gets information via AcuraLink about the crime at hand, he removes his glasses, loosens his necktie to reveal a hint of the 'S' beneath.

Camera pulls out of the cockpit to the rear of the RL and focuses on the SHAWD badge on the trunklid.

Voiceover: "The Acura RL with SUPER Handling All Wheel Drive...Super Hero Approved!"

*fade out*

thanks for that info.

NO DONORCYCLES For me.. no thanks. s2k isn't really a seriouscontender either. when my kids are grown, i'm retired, maybe i'll think about some totally impracticalf un car. either that, or after i win the lotto.

i may take my wife to look at this particular RL today or tomorrow and see what she thinks.

i'd really like to find out if it has the aspec suspension. the seller seems to have no clue. i don't event hink he know what aspec is. he toldme it is all factory, no addons... i simply asked him the body kit came with the car or was added by the seller after it was sold and he said something like "there's no body kit, it's original"..

the window sticker he has, shows an msrp of 49900... no mention of ACC, CMBS, or any a spec items. so they must have been added later. i wonder if the former owner bought the ar, then later added the aspec stuff? it has the rear park distance control sensors too, and I do NOT see that on the window sticker either.

does anyone know the part numbers for the aspec shocks? if i can see them in teh wheel wells i'd know if it has a spec shocks.

let me ask this - judging from the photos i linked to in the first post - does the ride height of the car look like it has a spec suspension or not?

$49,900 was the sticker for the Tech Package (Nav model - no CMBS/ACC/PAX). A-Spec is dealer added - there are no factory A-Spec packages. At least that way you can add the pieces that you want rather than pay and additional several $k for the wheels, tires, body kit, and suspension if it all came from the factory as one package.

how do I know if this particular RL has the a spec suspension on it????

i obviously know it has the aspec body kit and wheels. it has new michelin pilot sport tires.. an ipod adaptor...the rear park distance cnotrol..the owner put a lot of extras/googies into it.

given the cost of the apsec wheels and body kit..it makes me wonder if the guy did the whole thing..and did the suspension too.i just don't know how to tell.

absent taking it to Acura an dhaving them look at it.

can you see anything specific about the shocks or springs from an external visual inspection?

from the photos on that car for sale website, can you tell i the ride height looks low enough?

i've searched on here AND on autotrader.com for photos of RLs that are advertsied as having the aspec body kit...comparing photos...it's honestly hard to tell.

when i drove the car it handled nice...but i have no clue if that' sjust the SHAWD or if the car has aspec suspension. having not driven one at the dealer...i've got nothing to compare it to. i guess i can drive a stock one at the dealer...

You can't tell just by looking at it. You have to check the part numbers or go drive a regular RL and then drive this one. You'll know right away whether this one has the A-Spec suspension. The difference is very noticeable.

Nothing personal, but you keep asking the same questions over and over again. Go drive the car(s) and get the information you need.
