Exhaust tips

Made a 450 mile foray yesterday and saw my first RL since picking up the car in June...a silver one in Birmingham.

What was immediately noticeable as he went by were his dirty exhaust tips...looking just like mine!

Looks like some RL drivers have a "signature look"!

At least it's not filthy front wheels from brake pad dust that BMW's get...how plebeian!

They get dirty quickly. I clean it everytime I wash the car, soon it will be too cold to hand wash my car though

It gets colder where you are than down here!

For many years I've used a "new england auto brush" This brush has a handle, so you don't have to dip down into the water. In addition, in the wintertime, I wear rubber gloves, which helps keep out the cold.

Right after I got the RL, I also started using a "boar's hair brush" on all parts of the car except the sills, where I think the new england brush does a better job since it's a bit stiffer.

I would not consider washing any vehicle I own with anything other than this type of brush, and can even do so in the wintertime (with temps above freezing). I have found that the car gets as clean with a brush as using cloths, etc.

With the brushes, I'm currently using Griot's car wash, but cannot comment on its effectiveness as opposed to other products...I was ordering from them and got some car wash...seems to work pretty well.

Washing a car with the brushes is pretty efficient and quick.
