Engine noise at 1500 - 2000 RPM
I know RL has a big engine...but have you guys noticed the engine is very loud at 1500 - 2000 RPM when you slightly step on the gas. The engine hum is only related to the RPM and not speed. I don't know if this is normal, but the noise is starting to bother me in an otherwise quiet car.

All V-6 engines have some area in their rev ranges that are not perfectly balanced, it is the nature of the beast. The previous RL\Legend has this in the 1200-1600 RPM range.

Yes, I do have the same humming noise at about 1500 RPM. It did not bother me in Oct 05 when I got the car but now it has become anoying. I plan to bring it up to the sevice reps at my first service.

Mine seems to "thrum" around 1500-1700 rpm...Not loud, but noticeable.

Guess I should have checked the names prior to posting my original message - Autofill had a dealer find that the fuel line was vibrating, causing the noise...
Fuel line vibrating against frame
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am wondering if anybody else here has noticed a vibration hum when the engine runs just above 1500 rpm. The noise disappears after around 1550 rpm. I have seen a post in another forum indicating that this was caused by fuel line vibrating against the frame. Fuel line vibration will possibly cause foam bubbles to form in the fuel besides the annoying noise.
I am expecting another TSB or maybe recall if this is a widespread problem.
