ECU ?? reset

My son picked up a method to reset his ECU ( or throttle control) on his 08 TL Type S from the TL site which involves holding the gas pedal down for 30 seconds after a couple of other steps. He claims his car is more responsive after the procedure. I went to the TL site and read how many confirmed this procedure and the results. While a few said it made no difference. Any of you guys tried this on our RL or anything similar?

if you do this you will need to do the idle relearn procedure, window switch initialization, sunroof initialization, and you loose your memory seats and other settings.

Use the gas pedal method, it clears out the Drive By Wire memory so the way the car "adapts" to your driving style is erased so you are back to factory defaults and the learning stage.

From the TL site:

turn the key to the second position make sure everything is off like radio ac and so on... take it out put it back in and then again to the second position and press the gas pedal for like 30 seconds... i do it for a minute just to make sure. Then simply turn of take the key out put it in and turn the car on and there you go

im sure i put couple of extra steps that maybe are not needed but im just making sure i do it right

works everytime
