Duralast Gold brake pads from Auto Zone
Hi Ho: I have tried to find an answer using Search, but here's my question: Has anyone used the Duralast Gold CMax brake pads on an Acura RL? This is for a 2007 Acura RL with Brembo brakes on the front.
The Duralast Gold CMax pads from Autozone are about $100 from Autozone for both front and back. The pads from the dealer are about $300. Are the OEM pads really better or are they just overpriced.
I have had no problems with the OEM pads. In fact, they have about 91000 miles and still have about 5 mm left. They work just great, but somehow I can't understand why they are $200 more than the Duralast pads. Are they really worth this difference? Are they really better?

For roughly the same price, you can get Akebono ceramic or Centric semi-metallic pads.

+1 for Akebono ceramic pads as an OEM or better replacement. I installed these last summer to my 05 RL and they're great. Quiet, firm stops. Acura/Honda OEM is just way over priced IMO. I got the front set for under $100 at Amazon. Also installed these to my wifes Pilot and they were great also (were...pilot was totaled two weeks ago :-( )
