Dragging Noise Under My Car While Driving!

So I am leaving the gym, and I hear a dragging noise, as if my exhaust is dragging under the car as i drive. I pull over, check underneath the car, nothing there, so I start to drive off again. I then hear the same noise so of course I stop check the hood and under the car nothing. When I reverse there is no noise what so ever, when I brake it is also silence. It sounds like a rock that is stuck inside a basketball type noise and is just rolling around somewhere in my car if that makes any sense lol. I took it to my local Honda/Acura mechanic and he telling me he thinks it is my transmission. Any ideas or anyone else had/have the same problem? One of my co-workers think it is my dust/heat shield and that it got bent someway somehow. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

What area of the car is it coming from? Check your wheel wells and tires for contact marks. Any chance you can get the car lifted so you can get under to inspect?

I remember a thread about something in the shift column rolling around that sounds like a marble. Sound familiar?
