Disconnecting battery

I need to disconnect my battery in order to access my front headlight for bubl replace. Will I lose all my settings, memories, etc. when disconnecting? If so, is there a way to hook another battery to the car so as not to lose these settings.

Is there anything special to do when reconnecting the battery?

Thanks!

Yes, you will lose your settings.

As long as the seat, mirrors etc don't move while you are replacing the bulb, it should be easy to regain the majority of your settings by just hitting the memory button followed by driver 1 or 2 once the battery is rehooked.

Thanks-

That's what I figured--oh well, I'll write down all my station presets and I should be good to go!

I changed my battery and did not lose any presets.

Per the owners manual:

If your vehicle’s battery is
disconnected or goes dead, all stored
driving positions will be lost. To
store the driving positions again, see
the storing procedure on page ......

Maybe doesn't include presets?

If you are changing the high beams then you do not have to remove the battery. If you are changing HID's then you have a choice of employing small hands or removing the front bumper.

Odd - I don't recall losing any settings - radio or driving position. Also, doesn't the dealer disconnect battery for some maintenance items?

I did the HID bulb without removing the battery about a month ago. My hands have finally healed completely! I did remove the air box and some of the plastic molding under the hood. I was a major pain, but I didn't want to disconnect my battery either.

Strangely, I DID disconnect my battery about ten days ago and didn't lose any of the settings! So who knows!

Yesterday I disconnected my battery on my 05 TL in order to charge it. After 5 hours of charging, I reconnected the battery and all my presets were still there including radio stations. Make sure you have your Radio and Navi codes however, otherwise you will not be able to access either.
