Debadge?

Debadge?
To debadge or not to debadge? That is the question.
I have been considering it for a while now, but I am not sure how I feel. I don't want to take them off, regret it, and try to get them back on. I have also tossed around the idea of debadging and putting a Legend badge on as the only one.
So, what do you think? Pics of debadged trunks are more than welcome along with re-badged Legends.

Rebadge as LEGEND.
I even purchased and extra JDM LEGEND badge for any future 'corrections; I must make to an RL(X).

I know I am in the minority in that I like the "RL" name.
Unfortunately, "Legend" reminds me of a very old Tom Cruise movie that my wife likes and I hate. Everytime I hear Legend I think of that stupid movie

But back on topic I think the debadge is in order! It'll be cool if people are trying to guess what my car is too

I dunno. After seeing Ambiguous' and Zelaya's I am actually leaning more away from it.
I would like to see an LSM debadged. I also notice none of the JDM cars are debadged. I wonder why it's a must in 'Merika, but a in Japan.

I've been contemplating debadging too. I would possibly leave the SH-AWD badge on. I don't understand why Acura still feels the need to put an "A" and the "ACURA" badge both on the trunk. If they don't think they've garnered enough brand recognition in 25 years for people to know what the "A" means they probably need to rethink their marketing plan.

How about replacing RL with "Outback" or "Cobalt"?
I used to have a "2.5Litre" badge on the back of our Jeep (with a built-out 4.0) just to mess with guys in nice 4x4's that had the opportunity to see the tailgate.
More seriously, the RL looks very clean when debadged.

Only looks good on a nice rear end, wide tires, stretched tires, or with a full aspec/mugen kit. On a standard RL with no aspec kit, I think it looks awful, and like you said the RL is so unknown I've actually had quite a few people ask me about the car.

So I think I will wait and get some Legend letters or an emblem. When I do that, I will get rid of the three trunk badges and put the Legend on. I feel it just needs something there.
Maybe I can take the "SH-AWD" off and see how I feel. Hopefully I won't be like one of those hoarders when their stuff gets taken out of the house.

Or .......
Change the color of the trim / badge pieces.
Since you have LSM go with a dark color to make it POP!
Pick your favorite darker color (say dark maroon) or BRIGHT color... Do Aggies like fuscia???
How to choose?
Take your favorite photoshop clone, take a big picture of the back end and start changing the chrome to various colors. When you find the one you like it's off to NAPA. You can buy rattle cans of factory colors (or anything else), they'll even make a custom and put it in a rattle can so you can say you have a "one off" original!!.
Easy to do if you have the pieces off. just scuff, prime, paint and clear coat.
You could even debadge it by NOT debadging but instead painting the pieces all Lake Shore Metallic.
That's what I started doing with the beak on the front end of the newer cars (09), and found out that if I get rid of all the chrome and the beak AND the black grill and change all of it to the body color - darker colors seem to hide the beak better, it hides the beak and I sort of like the front.

I don't understand the Acura isn't a Legend thing. The Legend was Acura first. Would you not allow an NSX to be an Acura b/c it is a Honda in Japan?
The only think that would bother me would be the RL floormats. Maybe I should bump the thread about the Legend rebadge. People were talkin' about getting custom embroidered floormats.

And no, Aggies are not into goats or fuscia.

You have a point it was Acura legend "but" back in the day in the US. Not anymore now it's an RL in the US. It's a Legend but only as a Honda in Japan not an Acura. Doesn't seem right to me to miss match. If your going to do it minus well do it right and complete? It's not like the Integra it remained the integra in Japan and US Honda Integra and Acura integra so it didnt matter. Now it's RSX here so usually when you see the name integra on a RSX it has the h badge about 99% of the time. Lol does any of this make sense to you?(sometimes I get lost in my own words)

Rebadge, don't debadge!
The so-called "RL" was for many years the Acura Legend, and to my understanding, it remains so in a few international markets. In Japan it's the Honda Legend. In North America we are stuck with the meaningless alphanumeric.
Legends are rare enough that I think it's important to keep the Acura badge. And the SH-AWD is just icing on the cake.
I got my Legend badge on EBay a couple of years ago for a little over $40. Love it.

what would you guys think about a black Acura "A" emblem in place of the silver one, debate all else? on a carbon gray car? anyone want to chop that??
I have seen/heard of people using plasti dip or just paint... to make emblems blacked out... wonder if that would look good on my gray car?
