first off, thanks for the excellent info in this forum -
I took delivery of a silver RL last week and after I finally turned down the stereo I noticed a rattle from the dash over even small road undulations- I moved my hand over the clock/center channel speaker housing and it disappeared when I pushed down, but reappeared when pressure was removed
anyone else have this problem/ suggest a solution?

I believe this was a common problem with the 04/05 TL. Your best bet would be to make an appointment and take it to your dealer. Make sure you go on a drive with your service representative and s/he will be able to see the problem as you drive. This is the best way. They may take the speaker out and check for any loose parts, perhaps order you a replacement. I know that the lexus dealers will put in sound deadening material/foam to resolve rattles - depending on your dealer, they may do just that.
