CMBS Warning Light and Scan Tool Options

My 2006 RL lit up the CMBS light yesterday. ACC still works.

Research here seems to indicate CMBS can pop up from a variety of little gremlins. Searching here was inconclusive regarding whether or not a scan tool short of the dealer's equipment can tell me anything about the warning and/or clear it.

So my question is: are there any affordable diagnostic tools that can read the codes for the CMBS and/or reset the warning light?

TIA for your help.

Mine came on twice. Once was a complete failure soon after I bought my car. The second was a weak battery. I'd have the battery checked?

Unfortunately, the answer is NO. The CMBS system is proprietary and so no generic scan tool will give you the Acura specific trouble codes off of that system. You need the Honda HDS.
