CMBS/ACC on 2006-2008 RL
I'm looking for some opinions on whether it's worth finding an 06-08 RL iwth the CMBS/ACC knowing that PAX is also included in that package. In other words, I don't think the pre-MMC RL had CMBS/ACC without PAX. Am I correct?
I love the CMBS/ACC, but not sure I want to deal with the costs and discontinuance of the PAX tires. They only get costlier to replace over time, and de-paxing seems to leave you with other costs and issues.
What do you guys think?

You are correct. ACC/CMBS was only available in combination with PAX.
FWIW, officially, PAX tires have NOT been discontinued, but development has been discontinued, and PAX will be supported for probably as long as you own the car....
For example, you can still buy Michelin TRX tires, remember those? I think that PAX will go the same way...they will still be available 20 years from now, though as you say, at a price...
What do we think about which issue?

CMBS/ACC is worth it if you're not a spirited driver. If you like to be able to change lines while coming up pretty close pretty fast to a car in front of you the CMBS will put the brakes on that and put you in a dangerous situation.
If you are a pretty calm driver who likes to have an extra set of eyes always watching the road for you...I feel it's worth it.
I keep my CMBS off all the time and only turn it on when my wife drives.

CMBS and ACC are tools to supplement the Driver, not to replace the Driver.
If you value them as an additional layer of security, it may be worth it to you.
They are intended to react when the Driver is distracted or unaware, not to give you an edge over basic driving skills.
If you use them to reduce your safety margin in order drive more aggressively you are a dangerous driver and a fool that does not belong on the road.
