I was at the dealer earlier today having the oil changed on my MDX. We got to talking about my RL tand he mentioned "the Brembo brakes" on it...which make the pads twice as expensive (he said about $200 for the pads). Is he correct?

I believe they are Honda calipers, which they designed.
They are aluminium, fantastic calipers.

Advics is the manufacturer, I've spoke to one of there engineer's and the calipers on this car are top notch. Generally yes 4 piston caliper pads do cost more, but it's worth the additional cost.
