Body Shop in South Florida / Ft. Lauderdale

My 2005 carbon gray pearl RL (3500 mi.) received a gravel spritz from an overloaded construction truck while driving on the insterstate. Hood, windshield, and fenders chipped, roof dinged, front air dam and grille gouged, etc.

Can anybody recommend a good body shop in Fort Lauderdale and surrounding area?

Did you get the name of the trucking company?? By law, their load has to be properly covered. If you have witnesses, you should get their insurance to cover the paintjob. How frustrating!!!!

No. It was unmarked, with no cover, but I didn't want to try for the plate because of the rain of gravel, and the fear of a broken or worse windshield. Had wife and 2 kids in car. My carrier, Allstate, already issued payment, and more than absorbed the $250 deductible with an appearance allowance on nicked/scratched headlight lenses. I cannot believe the lens cannot be replaced separately from the headlight assembly, which is a $1000 (per light) part. But the nicks on the lenses would likely show up eventually, and might be buffed out, so I was content to take an appearance allowance.

Sorry to hear about this.

You may want to try searching in the 3G TL forum for florida body shop. Many more TL owners there and it may have been discussed.

If I posted pix, folks might laugh at my anal retentiveness. Honestly, the damage cannot be seen at more than 10 feet away. It's obvious on close inspection though, and Allstate gave me no hassle whatsoever. I should have done a search before asking. Thanks.

I don't think anybody will laugh about it... most of the people here are VERY picky about their car and all the details.

Good to hear the claims process wasn't much hassle.

No worries about the search, you wouldn't have found an answer in the RL forum which is why I suggested searching the TL forum.

Lightbulb Love the name

I had my Maxima repaired a few years ago at Wreck-a-mended on West Oakland Park Blvd and SR 7 in Lauderdale Lakes.

I was pleased with the job they did. The paint was perfect. And I'm very picky.

It a new facility. They built it when they moved from Tamarac.

My CL-S is going into a body shop in 2nd week in Feb, pompano ft lauderdale. I got tree damage on the side front panel and roof from the last hurricane. When i booked my car in 3rd week of Nov, Feb 2006 is was earliest I could get it in the shop, thats how good they are. Call them and ask when they would have a slot, you might get lucky since no major repair work needs to be done.

I will give you the name and # tomorrow as i dont have it on me now.
