Best color RL?

When I was looking at the TL model, everyone
was estatic about Anthracite Metallic.

I was all set to go with that color and a camel
interior.

With the RL, the colors changed. The closest
I could find is Meteor Silver Metallic with
either the Taupe or Evbony interior.

I want a color that hides dirt. Of course, white
or silver is the best and black to darker colors are
worse.

It *seems* the Meteor Metallic is the best
compromise and the best-looking.

What seems to be the most popular choice
combination amongst members of this forum?

Man i am on the boards tonight LOL

I was and am still in somewhat of a debate in to which color i should go with myself.
My TL was NBP/Ebony. I really liked how it looked but it was a pain to keep it up. I had constant swirl marks. However i believe the quality of paint an the process used on thr RL is better.
My first choice was the same combo for the RL. However Lakeshore caught my eye as well as the celestial silver.

Lakeshore tends to have a gunmetal look at times witha bit of a purple hue. It's a beautiful color and unique. Also an option for hiding dirt.

The Carbon grey I would say is the closest to the anthracite the TL has. Except the carbon grey has more "pop" to it.

The Meteor silver I believe is the bluish silver color. Some like it, but you need to see it in person.

Don't rule out Opulent blue pearl. Really a classy color.

The obvious thing is the darker colors tend to show the chrome accents more while the lighter colors show the curvature of the RL better than the darker ones do. At least in pics.

since many dealers have a lot on their lots, it's best to see them in the day and at night to get both perspectives.

I think for me, I will stick with the NBP/ebony combo just because I am a black car fan, I have Zaino and if I ever decide to sell or trade in the RL, unique colors don't sell as much unless they are in big demand.

I had the AM on my TL and it was very nice before it died. The carbon grey is probably the closest match on the RL. I had the meteor silver on my TSX before it died - and it is a love it or hate it color. You need to see it in person, it is silver with a blue tint to it. Kind of hard to explain.

I now have the opulent blue, and I th ink it is the best color on the RL. I absolutely love it.

It's not bad, but its also not the greatest. I don't mind it though, I know no matter what, the car is going to get dirty, just wash it

Sad, I washed the car yesterday and put a third coat of zaino on, I found my first rock chip in the hood along with two TINY scratches on the sides. Car is only like two weeks old

I personally like the blue the best (biased since my RL is OBP) but it wont do the greatest job at hiding dirt.

I got the Carbon Grey (very closely matched the Anthracite on my TL). My second choice was the silver (w/Ebony interior).

I think that silver is the best color to cover up dirt and ebony interior.

Lakeshore Silver

I have had Lakeshore Sivler/taupe since the initial release last October. I purposely got the color because it does not show rain spots/dirt here in Seattle. I have seldomed washed it but it is always clean and I fresh it up between the infrequent washes. I take great care of it and it looks new today. This color is very easy to take care of and looks great imho.

I have seen all the colors on the road here in Seattle and there is not a loser among them so it is just a personal choice. The dark colors all look great but will be harder to keep clean. I have a blue MDX too and it shows the rain/dirt more than the lakeshore and have had black/black before too in other vehicles which is awesome for a few minutes after washing, then it rains.....

The Desert Mist Metallic is another colour that looks great between washes. The only drawback with the DMM is that it only comes with the parchment interior which looks great but will be a little harder to keep looking clean. The only part of the parchment interior that I don't like is the finish on the center console aroung the gear shift, the cup holder cover, under the console storage etc. I'm considering having a wood trim kit installed that matches the OEM wood to improve the look of these areas. I don't know how to link to it, but you can see the kit I am talking about at www.wooddash.com/category/ACURA_Dash_Kits_RL. Let me know if any of you guys have tried these kits before and how they look installed.

I vote down on the wood kits. Some people have had good luck with them, but I have had both a metal kit and a wood kit for the TSX and they were both crappy. They looked and felt crappy. They def. won't seem nearly as good as the real wood you already have. After some time in the heat they will start to peel off. to the kits I used.

Thanks for the feedback vik. They do use REAL wood for the RL kit, but I am very concerned about the peeling you mentioned - I think that I'll pass on it then.

Noooo!
I have seen 2 of them with ebony interiors, (late builds). Do they show DMM & ebony in the brochure?

The RL has real wood throughout. The only thing I believe that is not real is the optional steering wheel.

Sorry SteveC, I only looked in the Canadian brochure where DMM only comes with parchment interiors. It must be available with the ebony interior in the U.S..

ck37, I was referring to the aftermarket wood trim kits that are available, which sometimes come in real wood or wood-look plastic.

My bad. Sorry for my misunderstanding.

Aftermarket wood kits aren't my favorite things anyways as well.

They just don't look right no matter the quality of them. But everyone has their specific tastes.

ck37,I appreciate your input. I'll leave my RL interior stock. I liked the look of the picture of the wood trim, but pictures can be deceiving and the last thing I want to do is bugger up my baby's interior.

White Pearl / Ebony

We'll be picking her up tonight!

We were able to see almost every color combo available and fell absolutely in love with the white. It makes the car look muscular and gives it presence. Theres also the fact that getting a white/black Honda is quite rare.

If we did not live in an area with many TL's and RL's (damn you Curry Acura for selling so many of them!!), we'd be in a MS/Ebony or a CG/Ebony today!

Lakeshore silver is the best color. It changes colors depending on the day.
