BASE RL for 40K where to buy?

Hello, I currently own a 06 TL, 6sp, Navi. I was shocked to see that people are paying 40K for a new Base RL. I'm extremely interested in selling my 05 Alitma SER and getting Base RL.
Question: where can I get a deal like this? Dealers in IL are generally not willing to go this low. I wouldn't mind flying in to CA or another state w/ plenty of sun, spending there a week on vacation and picking up new RL & driving it back.

Are there any paperwork/tax issues I would encounter by buying in another state?

Thanks, Andy

I bought mine at Stockton Acura, however I think they sold all of their 06's except for a demo with the tech pack. I do know that Modesto Acura as of a couple of weeks ago had several 06's left. And Fresno Acura was calling me a few weeks ago saying they had several less than 41k without me dealing. If you call on Stockton Acura talk to Royce. He is a straigt shooter and low pressure salesman.

I work at Acura at Oxmoor in Louisville, KY. We have 1 new 06 RL left and it is a Nav model in Opulent Blue Pearl w/ Taupe int. You could pick ours up for not much more than that!

btw- Southwest from Midway to Louisville is like $34 and only a 5 hour drive back

Send a PM to Riddler2222, he helped me out. His salesman was very helpful to me. Although they don't have any '06's in stock, he has access to '06's via Acura's database. The other option is to cold call dealers in the area and nearby states, see if anyone has any '06 and give them your price over the phone. As long as you tell them you are serious and it's a done deal if they can reach your price.

No. Do NOT pay any taxes in the other state. Once you get back to IL, you then can go to a currency exchange and pay the tax, registration, etc. You only pay your own taxes from IL, not from the other state.

Valencia Acura in So Cal has three left. Talk to Nick Levin, he's the internet sales manager. They may make you a deal at that price.

Andy, When I contacted a dealership in California they said they were required to collect California sales tax. I then called the California DMV and then the California Dept of Revenue and they both confirmed that statement. The California DMV (or Revenue - forget which) said the ONLY way to avoid paying sales tax was to take delivery in another state. Sending the dealer a check and then having it delivered to a location across the border is not acceptable (I was thinking of paying for it and then getting a transport truck to deliver it), it must be taking possesion and paying for it outside the state border. I dd some more investigating and if a SoCal dealer is willing to deliver it to say Las Vegas, then you can avoid paying the CA tax.

Good luck in your search.

Are you talking about a Base 2007 MSRP 46k or a Base 2006 MSRP 50k?

They are talking about the base 06 ($50K w/ Nav).

btw we also have 2 demo 06s in addition to the new Blue Pearl. We have a Redondo Red Pearl and a Desert Mist Metallic on the lot.

I have just joined this forum and glad to be a member here. If I can do anything to be helpful to forum members by providing dealer info, I would be glad to.
