B pillar Creacking Noise (Driving me crazy!)

My 09 RL has been bothering over two years.

The sound will be heard when the body is a little twisted, and also the vehicle starts and stops a little abruptly.

When I'm driving at a speed of 50-60 there's no sound. Many suspension parts have been replaced (Strut, Lower and Upper control arm, stabilizer link, and bushing.

I didn't catch the exact area, but I think there's a sound around the B-pillar.

Can the sound be heard around under carriage cover?

Is anyone having the same issue with this and has solved it?

Nice toenails...it could be the door latches themselves...try wrapping the little metal bar that the latch attaches to with some electrical tape and see if it fixes the noise...if it does you could either grease the latch a little or just keep the tape there.

Have you treated the door seals recently? Actually, all seals including the sunroof and boot/trunk should be done regularly.

Also, try cleaning your seat belts/guides. They could cause creaking on S2000s, because of course, they get dirty very quickly if the roof is never up.

Thank you for your reply.
Sorry for the toenail :0
Yesterday, I wrapped Tesa tape on that and I was driving with the door open, but unfortunately, the noise was not disappeared.

I applied a light grease to the seals, and even when I was driving with the door open, the sound came out. So sad.

Does the noise happen if someone is sitting in the passenger seat?

Whether the passenger seat is occupied or not, the sound is the same...

Not that then...

The sunroof seal on my Prelude used to creak, until I cleaned/lubed it. Try with the roof open a crack.

Today, I was driving with an opening sunroof, but there was still noise.

Then I'm running out of ideas!

Last shot - my rear sunblind sometimes creaks on bumps, unless it is raised.

Sounds can travel all round a monocoque body - loose spare wheels or bonnet/hood latches on S2000s sound like interior trim creaks, too.

Thanks fellas. I install 3M EPDM onto B-pillar. And also I put sinsulator in between the gaps, and I filled the inside of the B-pillar very tightly with it instead of urethane foam. There's no noise after that. I'll have to drive a little more, but I haven't heard any noise from there for 500 miles right now. I only solved it at a price below 30 dollars.

That's a result!

I had a problem with the dash wood panel creaking in cold weather and had to pack it with loads of Velcro - I know it can nearly drive one insane...

Hi,
I am a little late with my answer. I had a similar problem with my 2007er KB1. I had to spread the gap between the two metall sheets, and glued it with epoxy. Then the noise was gone.

That's a strange one!

Looks like they might have placed two spot-welds too close together and there's a tiny bit of movement in the bodyshell. But then I didn't calculate the bodyshell...

Being such a low-volume car, perhaps they are welded by hand and not by robot.
