Alarm going off by itself

Hi, most threads on this issue are pertaining to other models and generations, I have not found a definitive solution yet.

I have a 2007 w/ Tech Package, and tonight the alarm has started going off by itself for no reason.
-The car starts and shuts off with no issue
-Both remotes can unlock and lock the car
-MID says remote battery is low, haven't changed those batteries yet
-Proximity sensor on the driver's side door handle occasionally will not work to lock/unlock the car, most of the time it does
-Car battery is newer
-The weather has been dry for the last week, so no moisture in the door handle
-Have never had this issue before

We've disconnected the battery to prevent the alarm from going off in the middle of the night. But what is the long term solution, without making repeat trips to the stealership for them only to be "unable to replicate the issue" or charge me some b.s. diagnostic fee?

Your door handle is shorting out. Could be driver's side or passenger's, but most likely driver's given your intermittent sensors. If you don't want to replace it, you need to disconnect it behind the interior door panel.

Is there a fuse I can pull?

7 in the driver's kick panel should do it, but there are a lot of systems supported by that fuse. There is no easy way to disable the handles without unplugging them.

We left the negative cable disconnected on the battery overnight so as not to piss off neighbors. Reconnecting it in the morning seemed to resolve the issue as the alarm has not gone off since, with or without under-dash fuse #7 pulled. We're going to be disabling the sensor for a long-term solution.

Thanks again.

Battery resets can fix electrical gremlins, so that is not a huge surprise.
