I would like to know if anyone has been able to remove the air filter from their '05 RL? I tried twice and have not been able to do it!!!

 

I have. Remove facia plastic on drivers fender. Remove 4 screws holding hte airbox lid down. THe one closest to the cabin and engine is the hardest to get at. But it is there and will need a 4"+ extension on your socket to reach. Pull airbox lid out of rubber intake hose to engine and remove the box lid entirely. THe factory filter is fully exposed at that point.
