Advice on RL

What's up peoples?? I currently have a 1999 TL but a friend of mine is looking to get an RL, preferably a 2000 or better. Now I know the TL had some good years and bad years as far as the tranny goes, is there a particular year that he should avoid? What year would you guys recommend?

The forum is for 05 and newer RLs so if you want the earlier one you need to go to the other RL forum.
