Acura Total Luxury Care AFTER the warranty?
I wonder if Acura Total Luxury Care only works during the warranty period on the car or somehow (paid?) continues to work after the warranty is expired.
My 05 RL is close to the end of warranty (by both time and mileage) and I started to think what should I do to prepare.
BTW does it make sense to buy any extended warranty through the dealer or otherwise?
Thank you!

From the Acura website:
"The privilege of Acura ownership extends well beyond our acclaimed, 4-year/50,000-mile* limited warranty. It also includes Total Luxury Care® (TLC®)**, a complimentary service provided with every new and Certified Pre-Owned Acura—because our commitment to you begins with the delivery of a world-class vehicle. Owners benefit from the following:
24-hour nationwide emergency and travel services
Roadside assistance
Acura Concierge Service
A host of special privileges available exclusively for Acura owners
Chosing an extended warranty is up to you but many of us have, with the thought that just one "small" (after warranty) electronic issue could be very expensive to repair. In most cases, the local dealer did not have the best deals on AcuraCare extended coverage.

I went to the nearest dealer (Acura of Lynnwood) and all they could offer me is some third party Vehicle Protection Plan (from Fidelity) for $2500 (5 years/60K miles).
IMHO it is expensive and when I read their booklet (not Acura specific definitely) the coverage is not even close to Acura factory warranty.
Where can I get genuine AcuraCare warranty?
Thank you!

Interestingly enough it seems that http://www.myhondawarranty.com still sells Acura Care and their Internet prices are about twice cheaper than Acura of Seattle quoted for me. I wonder if they actually sell the very same product.

It is the same Acuracare product.
Internet sales of warranties were to end on April 1st of this year, but Honda relented at the last moment (I believe because of legal activity in the matter).
You can buy Acuracare at
Hondacuraworld, aka Ray Laks Honda, a site vendor--I bought two there
Curry Acura
and a couple other places I don't recall off hand. If you live in Florida, you have to go to the dealer.

Just bought my extended Honda/Acura warranty at my Acura dealership for $1800 (no deductable), 4 years/50,000 for my 05 RL. Had I known, I would've shopped around as per above posts.

When I bought my 05 with 43k miles on it in May, I purchased an extended Bumper to Bumper factory warranty for $900 (no deductible). The warranty is based on the original service date of the vehicle and runs for 7-years/100,000 miles. With my service date of March-05, my warranty effectively runs about 4 years or 56k miles. Time will likely to be the constraint in my case since I only put about 10-12k miles on my car per year. I thought it was a good deal and I was able to talk them down from $1200 (I asked for it for free, but they wouldn't budge)

Honda. It was a certified vehicle, all of the dealers in my area offer it. Some throw it into the price of the car, others make it an add on. Includes everything the original factory warranty covers, excludes wear and tear times.

Acura did pay for flat bed towing at 170k miles when I struck a pothole and ruined a Michelin and 2 rims.....10:30 at night, the dealers service dept works until midnight and they had the complimentary Acura TSX loaner waiting for me since On-Star and Acura Roadside called ahead to the dealer for me.
These guys rock!

I usually don't buy extended warranties, but because this was a used car with 43k miles on it and I didn't know how it had been cared for, I thought it would be good to have. A certified acura only comes with 12k/1 year warranty. I would imagine that if I have one or two problems problem with this car in the next four years, the warranty will pay for itself.

I extended the warranty on my '06 RL for similar reasons: not sure how she was treated in the past, even though the appearance is stellar. I bargained it down and I think it's worth it for coverage.
