Acura RL overheating?

Hey Guys, I am the owner of a 2007 Acura RL and yesterday I was driving it when it was pretty hot outside, temp around 96° F. I noticed that the temperature gauge showed a coolant temp much higher than usual, the needle was peaking in the middle of the last third (See Photo below, it got even a Bit Higher than shown). Before, it had never gone past halfway, usually even stayed below the second third constantly. To me this doesn't seem normal? Looks Like overheating, it got better when i turned Off the AC (which also doesn't cool continuously, but is rather changing between being ON and OFF (meaning blowing Out hot Air) for certain intervals of time) and the heating on. Didn't make much difference whether I was moving on the Highway or stopping... Already checked the amount of coolant inside (Green color, is this the right one?) and the Radiator Fans, they Work....maybe anyone has an Idea,.or can Tell me If this is even normal with Acuras? I Just know from other Cars that the needle should Not exceed the Center of the Display or, when driving unser extreme conditions, might Go Just a little Bit further.

Thanks!

My gauge always stays roughly near the 1/3 mark no matter what the temp is outside so I would say that is definitely not normal. The coolant I use is blue and I think that's correct for all Hondas. Did you burp the system and make sure there are no air bubbles in the system? Might be time for a new radiator or water pump?

Thx for the reply. I'll try burping the system, water pump Just got replaced along with the Timing belt 5k mi ago, might also try the blue coolant. Radiator might also bei a a good guess, thought I didn't notice any leaking at all. Could it be a faulty Thermostat as well, getting Stück when its too hot?

That's a good point. I think it could be a faulty thermostat as well. You may try replacing the thermostat and burp the system and see if that helps? I'm no expert, but that seems like a reasonable course of action especially if you're not sure the last time the thermostat was replaced.

Check your fans. I had to replace both electric fans last summer. I think the main fan went out long before the A/C fan and that one was keeping the car cool since the A/C is always turned on. When the A/C fan finally died it over heated.
