Acura Classic Tennis

The Acura Classic in La Costa showed some pretty good tennis, and the winner gets an MDX!?

If they are pushing the RL as their flagship, they ought to have given away one of those! Maybe they thought Maria Sharapova would have a hard time fitting in an RL at 6'2" or the trunk was too small for her 10 pack racket bag and clothes bag. Just call me cynical. I think it would be great to have Maria draped over the RL.

At least the TV ads are showing the RL.

Red face

Acura acts ashamed of the RL as a flagship. Granted they did not design it, but had some imput to the design. The MDX is an Acura designed vehicle. And it sells, so it is the corporate favorite right now. It is likely they will maintain a sedan flagship and an SUV flagship while SUVs continue to sell. The MDX is a worthy vehicle to be alongside the RL for that status.

The last issue of Acura STYLE magazine made no mention of the RL. I wrote the publisher, editor and Acura corporate to express my dismay over the RL's lacking acknowlegment. I got letters, phone calls, all somewhat sincere and responsive. And Friday I got a document tube from FedEx on my doorstep. Inside was a full size Acura RL poster! It will be framed and on my office wall Monday morning!

I would love to see the RL better recognized. But as long as I have one in my garage...screw 'em.

Cool

The poster is a silver RL in motion, the profile, evening city lights blurred in the background. Verbiage is minimal 'RL, First Class and First to Arrive' and an 'Acura Advance' w/ logo in the bottom corner.

Dunno how to get one specifically. I tried CS a few times to no avail. I think it was just my ongoing dialogue with them along with my critique of the Acura STYLE magazine.

I think the key is to be balanced with criticism. Somehow I got on the radar.
Anyway, I appreciate the gesture.

It is already framed in the office.

Wink

Touge,

Your photography is exceptional. You should have posters made from your RL pics and offer them to members.

After you give AZ members your posters for free, you can then sell them on eBay.

TampaRL, share your "largess" with your cyber friends by taking a digital pic of the poster and post it here for our praise or criticism, as appropriate.

Framing it and hanging it in your office is a waste and disservice to the well-intentioned gift giver.
