Acceleration Vibration from Engine Mounts?

Before I bought my RL, I took the car to an Acura dealer to have them look it over and let me know what I was getting myself into (it has > 160k miles). Surprisingly they didn't find very much, but they did find a broken front engine mount and a broken transmission mount. They said it was just a ride-quality thing and not to worry about it too much.

Since then I've noticed a low-frequency (~ 100 Hz) vibration that happens occasionally when I accelerate from 20-30 mph. My first thought was a bad CV axle, since the symptoms are similar to those I had in my 2nd gen Legend, which turned out to be bad axle(s). I still haven't ruled that out, but I'm wondering if the vibrations could also be due to the shot engine mounts. I don't seem to have any of the other typical symptoms (clunks when shifting to drive, for example), but since I know they're bad, I may as well change them first I guess and see what happens.

So that brings me to my questions. Has anyone here changed their transmission mount? I searched and found threads about the front mount and side mount, but nothing about the rear/tranny mount. Also, has anyone had an acceleration vibration that was mitigated by new mounts? It's not terribly violent, but it worries me each time it happens that it's causing damage elsewhere. I can usually avoid it by smooth gradual acceleration, but what fun is that?

My broken transmission mount was most noticeable upon acceleration and over bumps as the tranny would shift. Didnt feel very good. When I watched my freind/mechanic change the mount it didnt look hard but that was on a lift with the right tools.

I've heard of people doing a poly fill on some of the other Acura/Honda mounts. Is that something anyone has done for the RL? I'm guessing it probably wouldn't be a smart thing to do, but thought I'd ask anyways. These mounts are so freaking expensive, for something that fails fairly regularly it seems.

Honda mounts are notoriously bad. Here is a possible alternate solution.

I'm tempted to try this myself. What kinds of special tools did he use? It seems like I might be able to just use a floor jack and a block of wood under the tranny and jack it up enough to slide the mount out. Did you notice if he had to disconnect anything else in order to get enough clearance?
