A16 Service

I had my A16 service done over the weekend at Herb Connolly's Acura in Framingham, MA, and what a difference it made! Some of you may recall in one of my earlier posts regarding bad gas mileage and lack of power in my 07 RL with around 49,000 miles. Well, after the A16, the RL feels "lighter" and glides much easier than it used to. I have actually hit the mid-26 MPG for the first time since I purchase the RL in October, 2010.

The only thing I am not crazy about was the price. I paid $230 for the A16 service (oil change, tire rotation and rear diff fluid change). Oh well, at least it runs better now!

Mobil 1 5-20W Extended Performance Oil from Walmart: $28

Mobil 1 Extended Performance Oil Filter from Advance Auto Parts: $12

3 quarts Acura (or Honda) ATF Z1 from Amazon $20

Cost for oil, oil filter, and rear diff. fluid change at neighborhood Valvoline oil change center (with my own fully synthetic oil, high-quality filter, and genuine ATF): $75

Avoiding Stealership costs: PRICELESS

Well, $230 seems to be a bit high. I just got a quote for $130. We'll see what happens.

as I've said on many occasions before, you pay for service, convenience, and peace of mind.

Value of the service is relative.

Maybe they took the parking brake off.
