2010 RL Mod Recommendations

Hey everyone,

Just picked up my 2010 RL Elite Silver this weekend. So far - I am in love (we currently own an MDX & CL).

Question: I was wondering what some of your favorite modifications are on your RL's? What should my priority be for improving the look?

Thanks for your suggestions.

037 will be your primary source of member information on the 2.5G RLs. SRI, pulley, H&R springs, and cosmetic adjustments to the grill are roughly what are available.

Posting pics:
1) Find a source to host your pic. Facebook, Gmail Photo, Photobucket, etc. Anyone will do.
2) Upload the pic to the source.
3) Right click on the pic and "copy image location".
4) Click the yellow mountain and sun icon above the post window.
5) Paste the location.

If you can't see the pic in the post window, it will not show in the thread.

It will help to make your picture small b/c some people have small screens to view it with. MSPaint can resize the picture very easily.

Thanks for the suggestions. Not from GTA proper (located in Peterborough, around 45 min from GTA).

Pics below! Sorry for the size (I will re-size if problems).

Lovin It

Before picking her up I test drove a few Mercedes just to be 100% certain that it was the one that I wanted. No question about it. The CLS was definitely nice but just did not drive as well as the RL.

Will look over suggestions - thanks guys.

My vote goes for 'wood steering wheel and shift knob' if you don't already have those. Also LED conversion is a must.

tear apart the light, remove piece of plastic, stick the light back in and pray it doesn't accumulate moisture. Too risky imo for something as silly as a piece of orange plastic. In Japan they take it apart just to put the plastic in...

That is because most countries put safety first and design second. The rule is: front clear with amber indicators, side must have amber markings and indicators and rear must be red with amber indicators. The USA has the most laws but very few are enforced so we end up with anything goes.

Half the posts on this thread are regarding the posting of pictures. If there is anybody out there who doesn't know what an RL looks like then please post a picture of your brain. I don't mean to negate the pride that Asoubliere has for his ride but it looks just like a MMC RL to me and if you don't know what one looks like then you are probably on the wrong thread.

I don't know which most countries you are referring to but I believe US has one of the toughest laws on car safety.

Check out BMW safety ratings, I don't believe there is a single car with 5 star crash rating all around. In fact, until recently they had 3 star ratings in some categories.

2009 335 - 4 star front impact rating

http://www.cars.com/bmw/335/2009/safety-ratings/

2010 535 - 3 star front impact rating driver side

http://www.cars.com/bmw/535/2010/safety-ratings/

2009 e class mb - 4 star front safety rating

http://www.cars.com/mercedes-benz/e-...afety-ratings/

VW 2010 GTI - 4 star front safety rating

http://www.cars.com/volkswagen/gti/2010/safety-ratings/

Hyundai 2009 Genesis - 5 star all across

It's just a standard custom on the site, and it has been forever. Why are you so bent out of shape about it?

BTW, post a picture of your a**hole, so we know what you look like.

There are two options to approach this with.
1) Money: buy JDM headlights from Japan. Should run you about $2k+
2) Follow sqrank's lead: https://acurazine.com/forums/2g-rl-2005-2012-76/h-r-install-check-customize-headlights-check-819178/

IMHO, this is a GREAT mod. I love the look of the headlights already, but I think this would add to the features. I would love to try this mod, but I think I might try to find a headlight from a junk yard first to experiment with.

How many MMC RLs have you seen here? I have seen 3 and they are all different colors with one dropped. We just want to see what he is working with.

As for the "safety" rules you posted, there is no requirement for amber in the taillights. About 50% of cars have the same red lens and bulb as their brake light. I think it is stupid and less safe than amber, but they are there stock from the factory; look around.

It was installed by the dealer. I think it was only about a million as a factory installed upgrade.
