I have a question about my RL I was hoping someone on this site would be able to give me this information I have just replaced the timing belt water pump head gaskets when putting my car back together I I have not been able to get the car to start back up I do not know why I have replaced the upper intake the throttle body the throttle position sensor the EGR valve when I got my diagnostic meter hooked up to it I am getting a code about some communication problems
I'd suggest unplugging and reconnecting the large wiring harness connectors at the ECU. Wouldn't hurt to shoot a little contact cleaner at them while they're off, and work them a bit as they go back into place. Just did the belt (et al) on my 08 MDX - which woke up dead afterward. Unplugged and re-plugged the 3 (4?) big connectors and all was suddenly well. Hope this helps. RB
Still trying to get this 2006 RL working it will turn over but won't run
I have tried to unplug the plugs you're talking about on the ECU and plug them back in I did find it I had under the dash near the fuse box on the driver side I found a brown wire with a round terminal just hanging that maybe I forgot to hook up somewhere most of the other grounds are black so I didn't think it's a ground wire but if I leave it unhooked my keyless entry lights coming on when I ground it it seems like tequila's light is not coming on but maybe that's got something to do with why the car is not cranking another thing is I have a a picture right here of this plug that I have left over from working on the car and I'm not sure where it goes I think it went behind the front bumper for the automatic cruise control which my car doesn't have the sensor over to Acura emblem so I assumed it my car didn't come with it but this is just a pigtail with two different plugs on it and here's a picture of it maybe somebody can let me know where this plug went and just feels like I got something that's not hooked up something to do with the can bus.
