2006 Acura RL Buying Help

New the ACZine thread
Currently live in Central FLA
And the stars have aligned for me to get me a 2nd Gen RL
I wanted to get it when I test drove one by mistake looking for another car.
I found an ad right near my area but wanted to do some research before i buy..Please help me out
http://www.autotrader.com/dealers/dd...er_id=48167260

Wanted to know if its overpriced for the 42K Miles
from the ad it doesnt look like it has the Tech, XM or Nav
And not a fan of the wheels and front/rear light mods.
Dealer only provided 2 pics.
Will go there tomorrow..let me know what to look for
All I know so far is the regular features
Doors,50-70mph whine, A/C,

i would look elsewhere ... a modded car may sometimes be indicative of a beat on car, but good choice looking for a 2g RL ... look for a stock car IMO

appreciate the info will check out tomorrow just for kicks
Issues that don't sit right with me
Mostly w/ Dealer listed Acura RL's there are at least 5 or more pics but this only has 2
Modded Headlights and Rear Lights
But 42K is 42K Miles with Factory Warranty still an option
Will post tomorrow when I find more details

I would also keep looking. I wouldn't avoid modded cars as a general rule, but the look of those "mods" indicate that the previous owner may have been young or lacking taste at the very least. He may have driven accordingly.

I agree with tnobori and VQ; look elsewhere. For that price they could have at least humored us with some interior pics.

I would be concerned how a Dodge dealer got an 2G RL. That may say something about the ownerif he traded it in (bet he got a Charger and put "Lambo" doors on it). If you go for it, give them a rediculously low ball offer. From a different thread, https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...812054&page=2:

i used to have a volvo S60R.. bad ASS car. I had $10,000 of EVOLVE mods into it... i outran E46 M3s in it... anyway.. i bought it used off a ford dealer. some guy traded it in to get an SUV... they tried to work me and I told them what I'd pay..and it was JOKE of a price. after they tried every trickin teh book i walked away. they chased me down in the parking lot and said "ok".. i got it for an INSANELY low price.... it was one year old, had 14k m iles, was under factory warranty... i loved that car.... it wasn't "cpo"... but I got lucky... if you look.. you can find what you want..and pay what you want.

Check out Courtesy Acura in Longwood (where I bought mine) or fountain Acura and see what they may have, or get in soon. They do come in as lease turn ins (for the 07-08s at this time), and some don't see the lot or are not there very long. I've found lease turn ins are the best way to go, and usually have average to low mileage on them.

Completely forgot about this checked Fountain Acura's page and whaddya know they got a 2008 RL w/ Tech Pkg 44K Miles.
http://fountainacura.com/Orlando-FL/...r-Car/6021225/
Been busy all this week. Hopefully I can take a look this weekend
Sadly my budget won't let me go over 24K which I know with this 08 is not the case but I will check this and the other out for comparison reasons. Why are there no Blue (Dark Pine) RL's. The used car market is flooded with Silver,Metallics ..daaamn

.....Almost went crazy for a 95 Toyota Supra Single Turbo (Modified) at a Toyota Dealer. They wanted 26K..lmao. I guess since I sold my 92 Nissan 300ZXTT a cpl years back i been itching...

you should be able to come close at $24K on a 2006 in excellent condition and miles low enough to get the Acura Care. Were I to give one piece of advice to someone buying a used Acura RL it would be make sure you have the Acura Care on it for a long as you can because although reliable the parts and repairs on these are very expensive.

Carfax says it has been in an accident but if you can find out about the damage. I have a 2007 silver with 145,000 miles. I have had no problems other than routine maintenance. I do baby the car and it looks like it justed rolled off the showroom floor. Good luck!! You will love the car. Great stereo, best nav that I have seen, bluetooth and keyless ignition.

I went over to Fountain Acura in Orlando the other day
They had 3 RL's
2011
2008 RL w/ Tech PKG Silver 42K Miles $29K
2005 RL w/ Tech PKG Oppulent Blue 105K Miles $16K

The 08 was a CPO and the 05 wasn't but u can have the option to purchase warranty.
Took a test drive and came in to look. The 05 had paint chipping on the exterior and the leather near the glove compartment was bubbling as far as cosmetics go but I didn't test drive the 05 model.I told the sales rep that the price was too high for the 08 after crunching financing options and told him Id wait for another one and walked to leave and he bumrushed me."What is it gonna take for us to get u in this car.."lol. I told him 25K..and he said ok if so are u serious and will you commit to buy today....I left didn't feel comfortable

I think this car looks very nice. Did you go look or test drive that car even? I miss living in Orlando. I went to college at Embry-Riddle in Daytona Beach but hated that town so lived in Orlando instead Cant wait to move back but I'll miss 95.3 Party . Too bad it's gone. Keep us updated and welcome to the site.
