To be honest, I had to look up the answer to know. I think we are talking about different parts of similar setups. Per Wikipedia, a Macpherson strut is defined by using the top of the strut as the pivot point for steering. MacPherson strut - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The coil over only refers to the spring over the strut, so while a Macpherson strut is a coilover, a coilover doesn't have to be a Macpherson. Similar to a square and a rhombus.

Out of curiosity, I called two local Honda dealerships. The first one said they wouldn't do it, which was kind of curious. The second quoted me $1799, so it's a bit less.

That's why I asking if other people have done it through a dealership and what price they were paying.
