Since last week I've been smelling something like rubber burning and I could not pin point where it was coming from, seemed like something from the rear though.

Last night it rained here which wasn't that heavy and now this morning the door handle didn't work then when I got into the car and started it, the AFS light, Check Emissions light, and Check transmission light came on. My RL only has 72,000KM and is out of warranty. What should I do?

That must be barely out of warranty. 72KM is only 44,xxx miles.

Perhaps take it to a dealer for diagnostic, then call Acura and plead for concession/warranty if it's massively expensive?

Hope someone else has a better idea.

The transmission is my biggest concern. The D was flashing on the dashboard and wouldn't go in gear.

double check the battery terminals maybe the pos or neg is jumping off the terminal, its unusual to see all these things at once

I checked those plus its a brand new battery I put in last month.

I think you should check again i have 2 RL's 2005 and warranty runs out at 100,000 km's and im in canada also!

I second check the battery, something may be draining it. I had that happen twice to me change the battery twice since 05, fixed the same lights that you had. Except I got fuccced by the dealer the first time.

I had the same exact problem and it was cause the car was draining the NEW battery.... all my light kept coming on (all the same as yours) until i put ANOTHER new battery
