Hey guys.
So I solved my previous issue of a beep while taking corners at speed. Apparently all the oil flows off the sensor and it warns you of low oil.
Anyway, I periodically get a check emissions system light. Acura seems to believe the cat has gone bad but cannot establish which for some reason and wants to replace both for a quoted $600 and $575 each. I've found them on other sights for low to mid $300 and I'm sure I could find a couple for under $100 used if I go to a pick a part. Is the installation easy enough that its worth going with one of these options over OEM? Are there any easier options?
As an aside, I've heard that sometimes the oxygen sensor dies and indicates a bad cat even though its just a sensor. Acura admits they cannot distinctly tell but they say its far more unlikely for the sensor to die. Does anyone have any experience with this?
Thanks.

O2 sensors do go bad.
The Accord and TL-S 3.5L cats are compatible with the RL. However, the Accord ones have a more restrictive flow. I think the TL-S are the same but don't remember for sure. RV6 makes high flow cats for the J35 that will work too. I would either go OEM or RV6. Aftermarket cats will fail much faster and cost more in the long run. They also will probably restrict flow more than OEM as well.
That sounds like a cop-out from the dealer. The car throws specific codes for specific cats and the o2 sensor. You should make them give you the codes.

Keep in mind you can check the codes yourself, go to the center console display, go to menu and into messages. check the dates cause it will store old codes even if the check engine light is no longer on.
Also if you do change the cats keep in mind you can sell the old ones for quite a decent amount of money. Dont let the dealer keep them! that might be 200bucks worth of scrap
