Ill let you know if it was worth it haha. Only crappy things is Im tan interior but I want to try something with the dark wheel and tan airbag. Different kind of look. If its too tacky, I'll let it go or try to swap for a tan/burl wheel.

 

Yeah, you got it for a steal alright but I don't think it'll look nice w/ a black wheel w/ tan airbag. A member on here had the tan wood wheel with a grey airbag and it just didn't match up right ( I forget the thread).

 

for that price its worth a shot. If it doesnt work I'll trade or sell it for what a tan one would cost and go that route.

 

You should save yourself the trouble of installing and just setup the sale now.

Anyone know a good place to get the beige wood starring wheel for a reasonable price? I've heard people getting it new for $280 give or take. All I see now for new is in the $400+ range. Any assistance would be appreciated I am looking to buy a new one.

Just pulling them outta the wood work! haha Someone better jump on this...he spent $900 for it. Not to take away from the item, but his pictures don't match, but I'm sure its in as good condition as they say.

 

He's either lying, an idiot, or both. The first picture is not his of a 2G. That picture is all over Google. The second picture probably isn't his either of a MMC. The 3rd and 4th I would believe are his.

The reason I say he is lying or an idiot, is because the "Aspec" wheel (2G) is $424. 08U97-SJA-210

The MMC wheel (the exact same wheel) is $664. 78501-SJA-W11ZB

I guess the list price of the MMC is $897, so it is possible he isn't lying but is still an idiot.

 

Im gona watch the auction but if choco is willing to part with his, even if its a little more than what he spent for it I'm game

 

This might sound like a dumb question but what is Aspec and and how does it differ from OEM. Hoe can one tell which one they are purchasing.

 

"Aspec" is Acura's "performance" line of accessories. For the 2G RL, the wood "Aspec" wheel was sold as a factory/dealer installed accessory deamed more sporty. The biggest difference over stock, other than the wood, was the shape of the grip at 10 & 2 which hugs the thumbs. Also, the leather is dimpled as if it were perforated versus the smooth leather/vinyl of the stock wheel. After '08, Acura replaced the old stock wheel with the same wood "Aspec" wheel from before.

So I finally picked up the wheel and knob from my mail box late last week and just installed to see what it'd look like. The picture is a little dark. I'll have to see it tomorrow in day light. From what it looks like I dont think I'll mind the black leather colour. It looks like it'll work with the button colour. I'll take a more clear picture in the day tomorrow.

btw in case you're wondering the wood wheel and shift knob alone add about 7hp.
