05-08 RL Buying Tips..?

I am currently interested in buying a 2nd Gen RL and didnt know where to start and what to look for
I wanted the car since I took a test drive at a dealship last year. I am going to be putting down 3-5K and have decent/good credit.
I will be looking for 05-08 Model(s) under 80K
What should I be looking for?
As far as Factory Recalls?
Maintannance Intervals?
What price range am I looking at ?(Located in Central FL)
Anything to get me started would be appreciated

Look for a car that has a documented history if you are buying from a private party, or pay a little more and get a certified one from a dealer. Mileage is not as important as the overall condition and history of the car. The RL is a super reliable car so as long as it has been well maintained it will go and go like the Energizer bunny. If you get a car with 40K miles but was in New Orleans around the time the hurricane hit . . . you get the point. I've had two RLs and they have both been wonderful and incredibly reliable machines. You are smart to be buying one in the used car market - a used RL is a terrific bargain.

Just got an '10 RL Tech. Here is the one I traded in - and it is certified. And, I over maintained it. I am the type of person you would want to buy a used car from.

Oh ok thanx for the info will start looking in Jan when everything is in order. I will try and buddy up with some members in my area to take a few test drives with me if possible. Just wanted to know what are the known issues if going with a 05-06 model

unless buying a beater I always look for lower miles and factory warranties (Certified pre-owned.) Try to time the expiration by date about the same time as miles. Example - if you buy an 06 and get the remainder of 7 yrs / 100,000 miles on the Acura certified warranty, you have about 3 years left. So if you pay lots extra for a car with 30,000 miles, and drive 12,000 miles a year, you will time out on that warranty in 2013 at about 65,000 - 70,000 miles. On the other hand if you found one at 60,000 miles you would time out in 2013 around 100,000 miles so that you got the most bang for your buck. It costs as much to fix a part at 105,000 as it does at 75,000 so don't pay extra for warranty miles you can't use.
