After looking at wheels for weeks and humming and hawing over different sizes, offsets and styles I finally got my wheels on.
Konig Oversteer 20x9.5 et40 offset in their Opal finish which is like a hyper black.
I also went with Kumho Ecsta 4XII tires in a 255/45/R20 size which is exactly the same dia. as the oem 235/60/R18's
It fit perfect imho with no poke at all front or rear even though it is 30mm closer to the sides of the body.

I loved the Volk G25's and when my wife saw the Oversteers she said they look exactly the same.
I told her they only were 1/4 the cost though so she was happy.

I actually thought it would be harsher and noiser than the oem Michelin MXM4's being that I went up to 20's with wider tires...
They feel just as smooth and actually make the steering feel more communicative. It's been raining here the past couple of days and I feel very confident driving with them. Acura should have went with 20" wheels at least as an option as they fit the body style well. I was also looking at 19" wheel and tire options but believe it or not they were actually more expensive.

Nice meeting you today Skyline..your Konigs are absolutely gorgeous. I take back what I said above, about spoke spacing, it doesn't matter, and the color of the Konig's are spot-on.
Having said that, out of the 4 wheels that made my shortlist, (Oversteers, Ruffino Karbon, Fast FC-04 and Braelin BR04) the exact width and diameter and staggered offset I want on my wheels are only available on the Fast FC-04 which I will be getting. Just need to get over to 1010 Tires to give them a deposit.
Curious, have you felt any issue with the larger tire? I have a 16 RDX AWD Advance with the stock tires...might replace them soon but I wanted to go with a wider tire (I like the look of the wider tire on an SUV). I'm hoping to keep using the stock rim, as I kind of like the RDX Advance rims on my car. I'm just wondering if the additional width of the tire affects the driving, or any of the sensors in the car. (Yeah, I'm a bit of a noob with this stuff). I was looking to maybe upgrade from he stock 235/60/18 to 255/55/18. The overall dimensions are almost the same, other than the increased width of course.
I was looking on Tirerack and I see they make the Continental ExtremeContact DWS in 255/55/18. I had these tires on my TL and they run great in dry/wet, and are pretty decent in the snow.
The factory rims are not wide enough for a 255 tire...for that width the ideal rim width is 8.5. You can find a table online that specifies usable rim widths for a given tire width.
Regarding ride quality, I can't comment too much, my 255's are going on the spring...but you are increasing unsprung weight (tire + suspension components) which negatively affects the smoothness of the ride...although it may not be very noticeable..when the tire bounces over bumps, the suspension has a harder time dealing with it when the tire is bigger since its heavier....... .this is why you see some vehicles with tires that look smaller than you'd think they should be, right from the factory.....this improves ride.

Thanks for the info. Those Conti's I'm looking at, tire rack says the rim width range is 7"-9".
Does anyone happen to know the width of the stock rims? I searched through the forums but wasn't able to find it.
I'm on my oem's with snows now but I can tell you that I loved the greater feel and precision of 255 width tires. It also helps with the 45 aspect ratio. When we got or RDX last fall my wife commented (out of the blue) that the car felt so smooth and comfortable with the oem Michelin tires. She actually didn't want me to switch up the wheels and tires but I always did it to all my previous cars. When I got the 20's I installed them myself as I wanted to feel if there was any weight difference. It felt the same due to the fact that the tires and wheels that I chose were lighter than the oem's.
The additional width doesn't affect any of the sensors at all especially if you will be running the oem wheels. If you are running aftermarket wheels offset comes into the decision making process. 255/55/18 will be a taller tire and will show a speedometer error but only minimal. 60 on the dash will be 61.7 actual. Tiresize.com helps.

I was wondering if you have any problems with your wheel/tire setup. I plan on installing 255 width tires and am considering wheels the size and offset of yours. Do you have any rubbing when driving hard and hitting large bumps while turning? Did you notice any acceleration or braking changes (positive or negative)? Has the steering feel improved?

No problems at all with the wheel and tire combo.
Steering feel is slightly heavier but that is a good thing imho
I would do the same combo again.
Actually the upgraded wheels in the new RDX are the same size so it would be a direct swap so thinking about it for the future.
