Overheating?

Hey guys I just got a 2013 Acura Rdx with 130000Km and i am worried about it overheating. I wanted to know if the second is supposed to kick in at this temperature or is it normal?

No, it shouldn't kick in. This is normal.

Agree...not overheating. "Second" kicking in was confusing to me to me as well...I think you nailed it. If I recall correctly, #2 fan is the condenser fan and doesn't kick on unless the A/C is on.

The condenser fan can turn on without the compressor if one or two of the two temperature sensors are faulty or the temperature is actually higher than normal.

Yep...I saw this when Temp sensor #1 failed on our Civic and the temp gauge needle pegged on the hot side. Pretty sure this isn't related to the OP's post.
