I now call my car Moaning Myrtle because of this! At any rate, it is really a moaning sound that seems to be coming from the back of the engine compartment up through the driver’s side. Turning off the ac makes no difference, and it sometimes does it at an idle. Sometimes I won’t hear it for a day or two but then it always comes back. Acceleration does not make it better or worse. It’ s a steady whoooooooo noise. I love my car, but this moaning has got to stop! 😳

 

So that means with the vehicle fully stopped but with the engine running and the transmission in P.

Yes. I recorded this just sitting in the driveway in Park. The sound stays consistent and doesn’t change with speed or ac on or off. It sometimes goes away but then starts again. Stranger than fiction!
