hesitating while changing gears

2018 RDX tech
Mileage - 23k miles

Recently started hesitating / jerking slightly while shifting gears .. i did complain about it while getting the service done and the dealer suggested getting the Tans and Transmission fluid changed to resolve the issue.

any one else had this issue ? is it really about the Trans and transmission fluid ? i had a mini cooper before and the mileage for transmission fluid for that car is around 50k miles ..

Our RDX transmissions are supposed to have the fluid changed every 30k miles. If that makes the fix, which I doubt, then you might need to have to take a look at possibly one of the pressure sensors.

The maintenance minder determines when the transmission fluid needs to be changed. Like Poolman said, it normally triggers somewhere around 30k miles, depending on your driving. You have so few miles on your 2018 that changing the transmission fluid now is not a bad idea. Also ask if there is a transmission software update available.

If you bought it used, you may want to disconnect the battery so the transmission can adapt to your driving. I had to do that after I purchased my 2017.

Good luck.
