Driver side wet carpet

Driver side wet carpet
New member here needing advice.
I have recently picked up my first ever Acura (2018 RDX, CPO) after my our Accord of 16 years was involved in a rear end and the insurance won't fix it.
We picked up the car on March 9th and everything seemed ok at first check. I took it home and drove it for a bit and discovered there was an alignment issue and the dealer fixed it at no cost.
Anyways, early this week I was planning on replacing/supplementing the OEM all weather floor mats that the previous owner had since it doesn't really cover the peddle areas. At that time I noticed the carpet under the mat was a bit wet but I thought that was because of this poorly-designed all weather mats didn't cover all the area and the water was just getting underneath it. So I just dried it up an let it air.
This morning I decided to put in multiple layers of floor mats: 1) starting with a door mat that you get from Ikea with the rubber on the underside, right underneath the peddle area, 2) then I put the OEM all weather floor mat on (which doesn't cover the exposed part of the Ikea that's immediately under the peddles), 3) then I finally put on another fully rubber mat on top of the Ikea mat. So this is a triple staggered layer of floor mats that I shouldn't expect water from my shoes to get to the floor.
However, today we had quite a bit of rain and with all the snow melting (in Toronto) and it was just wet all around. After I did a full day of driving I decided to see if the floor was ok and to my surprise it was soaked (but the top side of the Ikea mat was dry).
I've read across various threads that this could be clogged moonroof drain, so I tried to pour some water on the driver-side drain and it seemed ok (some drainage from behind the wheel) but can't confirm if there is leak. The door panel, all surrounding areas of the driver side seem dry. Same with the roof lining. The only other thing I can think of are the grommets.
This also doesn't seem like an old problem because there is no moldy smell (unless the dealer knowingly clean up the whole thing)...
I plan on talking to the dealer Monday and hopefully they can resolve the issue without the hassle since the 7 day exchange period is gone.
In the meantime, any advice/suggestions would be much appreciated.

Based on that 2nd picture, it appears you may have identified the issue. The location "B" looks like the cap could be a little loose or not as tight as you want it. I was thinking a clogged AC drain but the leak wouldn't show there.
One suggestion: take out the Ikea mats before you go to the dealer. Putting mats under the pedal can be viewed as a hazard. Don't give them a reason to blame you or something not related.
Good luck.

Check your sunroof drains in your passenger side a pillar.. my guess is that the drain tube disconnected and is just spilling onto the carpet instead of through the cabin and out the bottom

Thanks for the replies. I took it to the dealer yesterday and they only did low-pressure leak testing.
It seems like they did not remove the carpet to check the floor, nor did they test leaking from the underside where the grommets are. I'm thinking at this point either I spray the underside with water to test for leaks there, or just spray the grommets/surrounding area with rubberized asphalt undercoating to see if this prevents further water incursion.

IMO, always best to prove you can repeat the problem before "solving" it. Then, apply your solution and try to repeat it, again (to verify that your solution has, in fact, addressed the problem).

Interesting finding. I also discovered a water leak in the same spot but not as severe since you cannot see it from the top (water cannot be seen on the top). Though the insulation on the bottom of the carpet is quite wet. I had a leak on my accord many years ago. It was coming through the hood release opening in the buddy where grommet is supposed to be. Funny enough I took the wheel well insulation off and made a video. Then when I watched the video it was right there, a big hole, the grommet was not installed at all.
