Can't close my hood ...

Anyone else had this problem? I opened my hood for the first time today after I washed the car. I figured I should clean wipe dry the edges but then I couldn't close it ...

You need to drop the hood from about a foot or so above the latch. That seems to be the only way to get it to shut.

Just came back from the dealer - they had to adjust the latch so the the hood can close ... oh well ... they also did a recall so I guess the trip is not a total waste ...

Mine requires a lot of force to fully close too. like dmacneill said, drop it from about 12" and give it a little push on the way down to help it accelerate. Don't give it a CPR push on the center like most cars are able to do. The latch is not at the front edge so you risk dented your hood if you do.

The owner's manual actually states how to close the hood. It is on p.276. It states:

"When closing, remove the support rod, and
stow it in the clamp, then gently lower the
hood. Remove your hand at a height of
approximately 12 inches (30 cm) and let the
hood close."
