2018 RDX Engine Surge

Hi guys,
I had a problem yesterday that I would appreciate any opinions on.

I was pulling out of a parking spot in drive with my brake pedal depressed and released slightly when my engine surged and the car lurched forwards. I don't see how it could have been driver error (but its always possible). Has anyone experienced this or have any opinions on whether I could have a mechanical fault?

Many thanks!

does it happen all the time, or was that the one and only occurrence?

trying to determine if it's a vacuum leak or a characteristic of the drivetrain...
if it were a vacuum leak, it would surge at all times.
now, I'm not saying that your surge is a characteristic or perhaps "normal", just suggesting that it cannot be a vacuum leak.
Cheers.
