Just bought a used 2015 RDX with approx 96200 miles. My rear lift gate button on the dash won't open the rear door, but it will close it. I've tried a variety of different options in the settings with the doors locked and unlocked, but can't seem to figure it out. The door will function with the key fob both opening and closing, as well as the rear button on the lift gate. I've checked the fuse for the lift gate and it was fine. I've researched a lot but can't find anybody with this type of issue. I've seen that similar year MDX's have a common issue with a wiring harness in the driver's door that can cause a lot of electrical gremlins. Any chance the RDX has a similar problem? Anybody have any other ideas? Thanks

 

Are you holding the dash button down for a few seconds? It's not instantaneous.

 

Yes I'm holding it down long enough because the button will close the lift gate when it is already open.

 

Unlock all doors first, before pressing and holding the liftgate button.
