As best as I can tell, this has not been covered in the forum.
I took my base 2015 RDX to the dealer today because the low beams were all but useless. They were no brighter than the running lights. They checked it out and said there was no electronic problem with the lights but that the inner reflector was de-laminating and both assemblies should be replaced. They quoted me $2200 for that. I've searched online and found there are reconditioned assemblies. So first, does anyone have experience with the reconditioned parts (how to they recondition them?). Second, if I'm changing out the whole assembly, couldn't I just replace it with the Xenon assembly? What additional parts would I need to do this? Is there a ballast that is separate from the assembly?
Thanks
You CAN replace it with the Xenon assembly, but you'd require much more than just the headlight assemblies themselves, you'd need additional/different wiring harness, the ballasts, igniters, and new bulbs as well.
At that price, I'd recommend just finding someone to do a projector HID retrofit into your existing assemblies.
Thanks for the info. I checked with a few body shops that would use aftermarket assemblies and their prices were about $1500.
Is there an LED bulb that would work in the halogen assembly or do they require the HID electronics?
Thanks
Have made the switch over to the LED lights for my low beam's. I have only had them for one evening and they are brighter. Give me a couple of more days to give good feed back. Just repalced them late yesterday eveing and only had a chance to ride around where there were street lights in town, so I'm not sure how much better the system is going to help
I've replaced my low beam bulbs to LED and my problem is like yours- visibility is extremely low. I did not see much improvement from the old bulbs to the new ones. I can only assume my issue (like yours) is the reflective coating. I can barely see 15-20ft. in front when it's dark. I am searching around to see how difficult it would be to do a projector HID retrofit. Hard to find places that will even do this. Any suggestions or recommendations in Florida (central Florida area)?
I added aftermarket LED Fog lights and made a world of difference. Much like you fine folks, I believed only being able to see 20' down the roadway in a dimly lit fashion didn't provide safe driving conditions. I also have TechMaxx Adjustable LED's in the High and Low beam sockets. Total package together fixed all of my lighting problems.

This is great news. I’d like to ask you a couple of questions:
Was it very difficult to wire in and install the fog lights?
Was there existing wiring or was there new wiring you had to run?
Did you have to install a separate switch to turn them on?
I appreciate the info!

So thankfully, Acura has the main part of the harness in place. The switch, I ordered the factory headlight/fog light switch (plug and play), the connector from the factory harness to the individual fog lights, the new (aftermarket) fog light bezels, and then the fog lights of your choice.
Hard......No, there are YouTube videos out there for the bumper removal and removing the steering wheel housing bezel. I believe in total it cost me about $200. Total time, it may have taken me 2 ½ hrs.
