Side boards - Regrets??

I chose not to put on the side boards, mainly 'cause I didn't quite like their design. But, after this past winter and seeing how much road "debris and grime" gets caught up under the door seals, etc....I'm thinking about putting them on for next winter to protect those under door areas.

I always had them on my 3 CRV's and liked them...but, they were designed better and looked neater.

Thanks for any feedback. Also, I'm still trying to find a quality aftermarket sideboard made to fit our RDX's.

Do the running boards really help with blocking snow and dirt? I'm getting mine installed tomorrow and hope that they do. The inside of my doors are a mess.

I'll report back.

They don't make much of a difference with snow/slush buildup on the front doors. We decided to install the factory boards for when our kid is a bit older & needs the extra boost to get into the back seat by herself.

Same here.. snow builds up on splashguards but the sidesteps are set far back. Start like 5" past the fender.
Only purchased for our soon to be born baby later on.

I like the sport running boards. I purchased them on e-bay from an Acura dealer for about $450 and installed them myself. I put the car on jack stands and it took about 2.5 hours for everything. You will need a saws-all to cut holes in the plastic underbody coverings. You only need a socket wrench for all of the other steps. Other than that it was fairly easy if you don't have any trouble following the Acura installation instructions. They keep a lot of dirt, dust, rocks. Etc off the sides of the car and look pretty good as we'll.

Don't have them on my 2014, didn't have them on the 2010 either and never really missed them. It's good for people with kids who need that extra step to get in, but most people are fine getting into the car without it.
