if you go to Bernardi Acura Parts website, most of the accessories have the PDF file already uploaded. Just search for 2013 RDX

I get that message when trying to get the instructions for the remote starter. None of the dealers that provide instructions have it for the remote starter. I realize they say it can only be activated by a dealer, but that doesn't mean you can't install everything and THEN have it "activated".

Actually if you wanted to do the whole job yourself you can purchase a short term license to use the same software the Acura techs use on a windows 7 laptop. Only other thing you would need is a cable to connect the laptop to the vehicle OBDII port.

I have an OBD-II port cable. Not that I'm interested into going into the business of installing remote starters, but, how do they prevent you from reusing the "short term" software once you have it?

You know I thought it could be done with a standard OBD-II port cable but now I am not sure. Seems they have a new tool that costs about $2,000 that appears to be required now.

The software for the laptop is useless unless you are logged in to the Honda/Acura server with a valid username and password. So it will only be active for the time you pay for.

You can find more info here and at its links:

We should download the .pdf install files and host them in our DIY section. I would volunteer to download and upload the files. Let me know. Send PM.
