Front Left Driveshaft Replacement

Took my 2007 RDX to dealer to fix a few things and they commented on a rusted left-front driveshaft (rusted near the boot??). Recommended replacing it saying it will eventually fail. Anyone else had this issue? Also, started looking up how to replace this thing using the ALLDATA website/service manual. It says to drain transmission fluid when replacing the left front drive shaft, but in the replacement section it says to refill transmission fluid if the right drive shaft has been replaced. Anyone have a factory manual that can confirm which driveshaft requires tranny fluid drain/refill? Thanks!
