You can create this center console divider with nothing but paper, scissors and some inexpensive project board. I haven't done this for the bride's RDX yet, the console shown is my Toyota Avalon but the project is exactly the same.
Start by making a paper pattern using heavy paper inside the console then transfer that pattern to project board (Readi-Board from the Dollar Store). I went through several versions before settling on the offset cells shown below based on items that used to float around the bottom of the console. Eventually you'll want to move on from the foam board to something more permanent like the MDF shown in the pics. The complete 'how to' is posted on my mods page here: http://gadgetjq.net/console.html
Start by making paper patterns then transfer to foam project board. The final step is your choice of material (MDF shown). There's finally some order in the console. The lower level could also become a false bottom to hide your super secret spy stuff. With a lid you have another level Ready to roll
Gadget, It's a novel idea and I appreciate your hard work you put into this but to be honest, I'd never use it. The one big open cubbie, if you will, is all I need to throw all my crap into. PS. Merry Christmas!
