My 3mo trial ends 2 Apr. so I called 866-408-8996 & received the above which was in a flyer I received.

The flyer mentioned 6 mos. for $24.99 + royalties but since I would not give my CC # (will generate an AUTOMATIC renewal), it cost me an extra $2.00 to have an invoice snail mailed to me.

HTH some folks here & I'll revisit this when my 6 month renewal expires in Oct.

 

Yeah, I had a pretty good deal for 6 months of XM plus weather and traffic. I marked my calendar and cancelled about a week prior to renewal. I have been busy saying no thanks to the offer of 6 months for $24.99. Seven dollars a month for weather and traffic seems to be the minimum. In any case, I am passing. XM radio is worth next to nothing to me and traffic and weather are worth about the same.

For anyone complaining there are only 6 presets: There are 12 just like for AM, FM....hit the appropriate venue once and you'll see you have FM 1 & 2, XM 1&2, etc. So, 12 presets...not bad....better than 6 right??

 

And, Jim, don't buy it. Some on here like it...as I do. That doesn't make you wrong...and it doesn't make us wrong. Only different....in our opinions. Also, doesn't make you right...or anyone else solely right on any issue. We all like different things for different reasons. This forum is to help those that want help....not consternation on someone's part on why they don't like this or that...or don't want other's to do something because "they" don't think it's right.

Helping here is and should be the theme. Personal, hard held opinions should be kept to ourselves. Say your piece and if there is objective information to back it up then reference that....personal opinions along with bitterness, etc. is like....well, you know....everyone has them.

 

With our '06 TL we did not renew after the first 3 months until a few years later when we had a road trip from SF Bay Area to Seattle and back. I called and asked for their best deal. I got a deal I couldn't refuse.

My wife and I like XM - we don't like the regular price - but now we're addicted. We have maintained our subscription in the TL for a few years and for the past couple of years also in my Ridgeline truck. I'll cancel it on the TL now that my son is buying it from us, but we are likely to keep it in the RDX.

At least we have a couple more months to decide whether or not we like the weather and traffic features enough to pay the extra cost.

 

So, opinions aren't allowed on forums? Gosh, what a revelation! By the way, who made you the forum monitor?

Apparently there are times that we all need to monitor. That's MY OPINION!

We've heard plenty from you on how you dislike XM....you write it to everyone that makes comments on why they like it.

We get it Jim...you don't like XM! So, don't get it...we know why, stop reminding us...we are adults...well, most on here are.

I've had complaints written to me about you! Why they wrote me, I don't know...maybe it's because I display common sense on here....and if I've got info. that backs up what I write then I do that. No... I won't answer any more of your absurd comments...nor will I tell you who wrote me. Drives you nuts doesn't it Jim??

YOU missed the point. I don't slam anyone with a different opinion. I certainly comment when a person REPEATS their same complaint of a subject over and over! Get the difference? Maybe YOU don't!

Let me help you one last time: You make the same comments about not liking XM EACH time someone else states that they like it.
We all get it Jim. YOU don't like XM. We don't care anymore that you don't.
Grow up and move on to a new subject you can malign with your "opinions."

Again, I had personal mail sent to my address complaining about this very subject about you. Enough already. It only takes one reply for a person to "voice" their feelings on a subject. You are then "on record" that you either do like it and whey....OR...you don't like it and why. That's all that is needed. One well worded reply. NOT a reply each and every time someone says they like....in this case....XM.

I'm officially done with this subject....you can continue to show your ignorance and malign me all you want. That's not why we are here. I'm only three weeks into my new RDX. I've listened to XM for perhaps 45 minutes. I prefer my podcasts and Pandora on my iPhone. I'm surprised that Pandora seems to sounds better than XM. The traffic rerouting hasn't helped for me at all. I get better results with Waze on the iPhone. So, my plan is to not purchase it and if necessary, use that cash saved to get more data from Verizon.

XM...i had XM on my TL for the first 7 yrs...i liked it. no commercials, no talking, just music. i had the freebie intro for the MDX...again i liked it. it was great for traveling since you didn't lose the station and the traffic channels were great (i listened to those a lot just to check out what the hell was going on).

alas, i did not continue my subscription in my MDX. i thought i would try listening to my ipod or CDs instead as an alternative. when i did have opportunies to listen to XM in loaners or the freebie trials after that...i found that the sound quality was not to my liking (compared to my CDs or my ipod) and that even with a multitude of channels at my disposal finding something to satisfy my listening pleasure channel surfing was annoying. i also discontinued XM after 7yrs in my TL (partly b/c the car wasn't being driven as much and the other parts were the sound quality, the "nothing's on" issue, and the expense).

i haven't regretted my decision in leaving XM radio behind. i miss the traffic channel, but i'll live. i have found that my personal collection of music on my ipod much more enjoyable to listen to in the car than XM provided. and the sound quality is SO much better. i'd rather take that money that would have been for XM, and put it towards more useful things (mods (well not really useful, but enjoyable ), maintenance, bills, etc).

ultimately, everyone must decide for themselves what XM is worth to them. having been a long time user of XM and then dropping them...i've made my decision based on my needs and preferences. mine apparently changed over those 7 yrs.

 

Loved having xm radio while on our cross country roadtrips and the numerous trips from NC to NJ/Pa and back. My husband had Sirius as he had to have Howard. After I sold his car I cancelled the Sirius. They credited the balance to my xm. I now have xm until Feb. 2014.
