I want to update the nav disc on my recently purchased used 2013 rdx, I searched for it on the Acura owners website, they have the 2016 purple dvd for $149, way too expensive since 2017 is almost here, when should the 2017 disc come out?

The latest update disk always comes out once a year in the early fall. The only time the update disks were delayed several months in the last 10 years was when daylight savings dates were changed back in 2007 (I think). The prices usually start at $199, down to $149 mid year, and $99 around late spring/early summer. It is the same disk with no update for the entire calendar year until the next update is ready. If the 2017 update disk isn't out by now for your vehicle, there is a good chance it will be next fall before you see another update.

I do most of my traveling in the late spring/summer. You could always wait until the price drops to $99 like I like to do.

Does the update disc just update the maps or does it also upgrade the OS? I have a 2013 and it all pretty much sucks. Was wondering how big of an improvement the update might be.
