Upgrade screen from base to Tech?

My wife has a 2015 RDX base model. She loves this car but I feel the back up camera is really bad for a vehicle of this price. I have a two part question:
1 - for owners of the tech package version, how is your camera for night performance? I find the one on the base model, or at least the screen, is extremely dark and almost useless.
2 - Can I just replace the actual display screen on the base model with the one from the tech package model? I see these for sale on eBay. I don’t want the navigation, because my iPhone is better, but I would like a bigger or at least brighter screen.

Try turning the big knob on the dash clockwise to increase brightness of the camera display when in reverse.

our non-tech package has the “day/night” button for the display and that brightens the display but the actual camera image is still dark. Turning the knob has no effect.

You might also make sure your back up lights are working and/or replace them with brighter LEDs. Also, make sure the camera lens is clean.
I doubt you can replace the screen with one from a different model. Honda/Acura uses very model specific wiring harnesses.

Were you able to upgrade your upper display screen to a larger nav one? I too want to try but it appears that the plugs (or at least one of them) may be different. Wondering if anyone has a wiring diagram for the screens that I could look at.

I have the base 14 model and noticed the same thing. I went on Amazon and purchased a set of high lumen LED back up lights which did improve the visibility both on the display and through my window tint.

The LED reverse bulbs make a huge difference. On every vehicle that I've owned, I put them on.

Is it not possible to upgrade a 2017 base model to the Tech package just for audio/nav etc? I don't need the parking sensors or other features, I'd just like the better control center.

Thanks.

No you really can't because the wiring harnesses are different. the whole center touchscreen is not that great really, it can be hard to see in daylight. Of course the NAV included
is silly and outdated. The only real upside of the TECH package is the audio, the best stock sound I have ever had. You have to go to the ADVANCED package to get parking sensors.

I would try to be happy with what you have and know that your next vehicle will probably have CarPlay and/or Android auto.

This. If I remember correctly it's like 410 Watts for my 2013 and it sounds incredible.

Is the upper display on the Tech PKG RDX larger? It looks larger.

has anyone successfully upgraded the non-Tech package screen? I really miss having Navi front and center like I did in my TSX after I upgraded to an Android radio!
