Song/Artist Chinese Decoding on '16+ RDX with Navigation
Hello All,
New to the forum and planning to make my purchase between RDX/Edge/Grand Cherokee within the next 6 months, so I have a question that I am hoping that y'all can answer for me.
One of the my big wish is that song titles that I have play from my iPhone or USB can display correctly on not only the center MID display, but also in the instrument panel screen in front of the steering wheel. I am looking at Tech or Advanced package so this question is specific to those that own a RDX with navigation built-in.
I have received conflicting information about whether or not it supports it. My aunt has a 13 RDX without navi and her radio unit/screen can display Chinese perfectly. So I would like to know if Acura extended this to their navi-based units, knowing that a lot of times the radio and navi units are built by very different vendors.
I know the sure way is to go to a dealer, but my work schedule doesn't really allow me to do that just yet, so I figure that I ask you experts! Thank you in advance!
Jack

I don't think RDX can handle Chinese font, we have a 16 Advance RDX, my wife's cantopop CDs that got save to the HD, the titles and the singer names won't even show up, just blank. it might have something to do with how the discs are encoded, but I am pretty sure the issue is with the RDX. My 2015 grand Cherokee can't either.

I am very impressed with the unit's ability to display Asian characters. I can confirm Japanese works as well. I've only tried using MP3s on a USB though. (It's 2017 after all.)
No Lexus/Toyota I've had, as recent as 2016 models, are able to do this in North American models yet.
