Hi All-

Just got a 2018 with tech pkg. When I am driving and get a text message; I get the option to "READ" or "IGNORE". When I hit the "READ" I get a message "Can only read message when the car is parked". Is this the way that it is supposed to work or is there any setting that needs to be done in order for the message to be read aloud while driving? I have a 2014 Honda CRV that reads the text messages aloud while driving.

Yes, what you described is the way it works. The function is pretty useless, because you have to be stopped with the vehicle in Park for the message to be displayed. The owner's manual alludes to the capability to read the text aloud. It isn't clear to me whether that works while driving or not. I have the function turned off to avoid the annoyances of the constant notifications that you can't do anything with in a practical manner.

 

I found that you have press the enter button or read button again , I don't remember which one. Then the car will read the message to you.
